Garden Part 1
23.03.2024
Today, I eagerly ventured to check on the seeds I had recently planted for germination, and to my sheer delight, most of them had already sprouted. I couldn't contain my excitement as this development meant I could soon commence the actual growth process before transferring them to my garden.
For me, germination marks the pivotal stage in gardening; it's a make-or-break moment. Without successful germination, the entire gardening endeavor would be futile. Thus, I found myself nervously crossing my fingers, hoping to avoid another setback.
Among the sprouted seeds were bell peppers, chili peppers, eggplants, zucchinis, okras, tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes. Witnessing their tiny shoots emerge filled me with a sense of accomplishment, reaffirming my belief in my gardening abilities. Notably, my zucchini seeds, which I had only planted last night, had already sprouted—a testament to my green thumbs, as I'd like to believe.
As I eagerly await the arrival of fairy lights and artificial foliage to adorn my little garden, today also brought the arrival of the second batch of seeds I had ordered. This time, I opted for flowers and ornamental plants to add a touch of majesty to my garden. The selection includes Bonsai palm trees, climbing rose flowers in red, white, and pink hues, Chinese hydrangeas, and, most notably, Carolina Reapers.
My fascination with Carolina Reapers stems from a memorable encounter at a party where I boldly accepted a challenge to consume one. The experience was nothing short of intense, leaving me scrambling for yogurt to tame the fiery sensation. Despite the ordeal, I couldn't resist the allure of growing my own Carolina Reapers.I've come across notions suggesting that cultivating plants and flowers can be arduous and time-consuming. However, I've always embraced challenges, preferring to embark on journeys from scratch rather than relying on others' efforts. This sentiment harks back to my time in Dubai, where I would eagerly await Amazon deliveries of seeds and large cloth pots for my gardening escapades. I distinctly recall proudly informing my friend, whom I affectionately refer to as Bunny, of my ambitious gardening endeavors, including growing sunflowers and vegetables on Mars—metaphorically speaking, of course.
The prospect of harvesting my own organic produce fills me with immense joy and anticipation. I envision setting up a table amidst the flourishing garden, shielded by a fence to deter curious intruders like dogs, cats, and goats from nibbling on my precious plants. Once my vision materializes into a beautifully cultivated garden, I will consider it a personal triumph—an achievement born out of my unwavering dedication and love for gardening.
Gardening isn't merely a hobby for me; it's a source of fulfillment and inspiration. With each seed planted and each shoot that emerges, I am reminded of the beauty of growth and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.
Stay tuned for Part 2!
